Things to do on Bonaire

Beyond diving, Bonaire has flamingos, a national park, kite and windsurf spots and quiet beaches. A few ideas for your days above water.

Snorkeling on Bonaire is easy, because many reefs start right off the shore and the water is calm and warm. That also makes the island a good choice for children who love the sea.

The steady trade wind brings windsurfers and kitesurfers to the island. Sorobon and Atlantis Beach are about 8 minutes by car from Water Villas.

Washington Slagbaai National Park has hiking trails, cliffs, secluded beaches and plenty of wildlife. Bonaire has more than 200 bird species. Flamingos are a common sight on the salt flats in the south, and along the way you will meet wild donkeys, goats and iguanas.

You can also explore the island by bike, kayak or 4x4, and there are places for yoga, meditation and massage. For a quiet afternoon, walk through Kralendijk, the small capital, and stay for dinner by the sea.
